Mythical maze Summer reading challenge 2014
Irthlingborough Junior School has been awarded Top School in The Mythical Maze Summer Reading Challenge 2014.
This school had the highest percentage of children completing the challenge at Irthlingborough Library. Well done to all the children that took part.

World War 2 Projects
Here are some beautiful scenes of dig for victory gardens and Anderson Shelters from wartime.
Booklets and pictures were also made showing the times of change and hardship throughout the war. I am sure you would agree, some tremendous efforts have been made to capture the essence of that bygone era.

Year 6 War sketches
Greek Day year 4
We enjoyed an excellent morning of Greek activities making, Oil lamps, soap sculptures, decorative plates and herbal remedies but the stuffed, toy, rats were really annoying us!
In the afternoon we had a feast we dined on feta cheese and olives while watching Greek plays, poetry and dance.
Year 5 Talking Textiles produced some lovely fabric panels based on their version of the story of the Trojan Horse. The worked in groups planning first in paper and then hand stitching and machine sewing their characters and backgrounds on. Some wonderful work by Miss Royds class.
Year 3 had a day at the pocket park creating pictures from nature, they were inspired by Andy Goldsworthy a sculptor of nature.
Year 3 visit Ancient Britain experience
A recreation of an Iron age settlement and they were shown the skills
that children and settlers would have had at that time.
